Air Traffic Controller May Have Been Drinking On The Job, Federal Aviation Administration Says
DENVER -- The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating whether an air traffic controller on duty in Colorado had more alcohol in his system than the rules allow.

A random test on July 5 showed the controller's blood-alcohol content was above the 0.02 percent maximum for on-duty controllers, the FAA said on Tuesday. An agency spokesman, who did not want to be identified by name, declined to give the exact figure.

For drivers, the limit is 0.08 percent in most states.

The controller is no longer handling air traffic, the agency said. His name wasn't released.
