It's a 100 degrees,,,
no windows to open, a/c isn't working (hasn't worked for days) gonna get worse tomorrow. Those are the conditions my husband has been working 14-15 hours a day in.

I feel so bad for him...it's really hot. :-(

He had a heart attack in October, I hope working in that heat won't hurt him.

I wish they'd hurry up and get it fixed. I can't help but worry...

9. He manages the local office...
that handles sub contract work for a large retailer. There are 4/5 people in the office and then there's the warehouse and the installers.

2. We had to have the AC replaced a couple of weeks back...it was miserable.
The house reached 90 on the inside. I keep the house at 72 normally.

Hope everything goes well with your husband!! Hope the AC gets to working again!!!

we had issues last year with our a/c--have since replaced--we bought a portable unit to help. We keep it for emergencies, at least we can cool the bedroom.

My daughter was using it till her a/c gets fixed..but I told my husband to take it tomorrow if the a/c isn't working..it will help some.

edited to clarify: my daughter's unit is now fixed...I'm not leaving her without a/c. Just realized that's how it read.

3. My husband is out in this heat doing his job.
His boss is on a tear this week and keeps moving them around with few breaks.

11. I feel for you!...
my husband used to work in construction. When it got hot like this..he would bring the guys in a little early and let them leave early. Also breaks, sit in the car with the a/c on. He was very careful when it was brutally cold too.

I'll keep a good thought for your husband!

4. HE MUST ask the boss to fix the AC! NOW! IMMEDIATELY!
He needs to get a note from his medical doctor about his heart attack, stating that the A/C MUST be fixed immediately, because it is life-threatening condition, not to mention that with a prior heart attack, your husband probably has a slight disability. This is what is known as "reasonable accommodation" to a disability.

Hubby needs to get a note MANDATING the fixing of the air conditioning IMMEDIATELY.

And talk to a lawyer who specializes in disability law if you have further questions.

I am a lawyer but I don't play one on TV. :D

13. Thank you for the advice...
I've pretty much told him all this. There was a fire in the office last week, so they're trying to work around that mess. I guess that's why the a/c isn't working.

I'm going to have him take our portable unit in tomorrow. It won't be as good as "regular a/c" but it'll probably keep it at around 85 or so. Which is a lot better than what it is now.

There's another guy in the office that had triple by pass about a year ago..worried for him too.

5. I used to work in those conditions everyday
If it was 90 outside it was probably 110 in the factory. It sucked, thats one of the many reason's I decided finally to go away for college.

8. I can relate.

Power was out all over the area a few years ago after a hurricane did a lot of damage.
At my house we did without electricity for four days and the heat was just unbearable.
I grew up without A/C but I'm spoiled now.
