I'd rather see a DU that is on top of the issue and attempting to discuss it and influence the debate than see a DU that says "trust your leaders" to do the right thing, although they have not proved themselves capable of such things. and his saying the 'gang of six' plan which among other things calls for

Since nothing has actually happened yet hysteria over what might happen, or even probably will happen, is not called for. Undoubtedly, there will be things in the final agreement that we do not like, and the other side will get things we believe are insane. They will feel the exact same way.

Are we getting the worse of the deal? I don't doubt it, but that's what happens when the House changes to having teabaggers controlling it. Deal with it and get the House back. And keep the teabaggers a good distance from the White House.

(Hint: refusing to work for Obama or blue dogs next year won't help at all in this.)

Might I also suggest that we use this opportunity, however vile the occasion for it, to actually do something about the debt, which is, by all accounts, too big? Then, make the deal, thank the teabaggers for bringing it up, and destroy them utterly next year?
