Gang of 6: "Huge tax cuts for the 1%. Peas and cat food for the 99%." |

Obama: "I like!"
Deep cuts in Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. "Throw another senior citizen on the barbie, will 'ya?"
Suck it up working Americans. Resistance is futile. The Shock Doctrine wins yet again.
This gets more absurd with each passing day: Sorry, it is not the America I signed up for.

growing, private prison system will offer luxury condos @ 2 per cell, but you will have to work for next to nothing in pay to stay there.
Three hots and a cot will start looking better soon.

5. I did check it out. I'm not sure if I'm evolved enough for it. |

Seriously, it's a pretty radical departure for my brain - although maybe less radical if i spend more time with the thought. I'll continue to mull it over.
Thanks!

7. A top tax rate of between 23% and 29%. |
|
When Obama said "I refuse" to extend the Bush tax cuts for the rich he was telling the truth. He just scrapped that cut and endorsed an even larger one.

10. Just got this from Bernie Sanders |
|
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) today issued the following statement on a deficit-reduction proposal by a group of senators called the Gang of Six:
"While all of the details from the so-called Gang of Six proposals are not yet clear, what is apparent is that the plan would result in devastating cuts to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and many other programs that are of vital importance to working families in this country. Meanwhile, tax rates would be lowered for the wealthiest people and the largest, most profitable corporations. "This is an approach that should be rejected by the American people. At a time when the rich are becoming richer and corporate profits are soaring, at least half of any deficit-reduction package must come from upper income people and profitable corporations. We must also take a hard look at military spending, which has tripled since 1997."

I simply can't believe this craziness. Maybe I need an antipsychotic to make this go away, I'm guessing it's not real?

Edited on Tue Jul-19-11 09:01 PM by tnlefty
members like peas, sprouts have to have elaborate recipes to be consumed at all.
No one here is going to enjoy his peas either. And there are people who are looking closely at what the Pres. is doing and not liking it. The young voters in my household have been spouting off for a couple of years.
But it's all good, he doesn't want our votes, nor the work we've put into our local dem party!
