Chris Christie Targeted By New Advocacy Group

By Dave Warner

PHILADELPHIA, July 18 (Reuters) - A Democrat-leaning advocacy group launched in New Jersey on Monday, saying it would "fight back" for the interests of state residents and blaming Republican Governor Chris Christie for drastic budget cuts, high unemployment and tax breaks for the wealthy.

One New Jersey's website features articles on such topics as restoring state aid to cities, criticism of Christie's use of the line-item veto power and a defense of Planned Parenthood family planning clinics.

"Someone has to fight back. That's why One New Jersey was formed," One New Jersey said in a statement announcing its launch. It said it registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)4 advocacy group, a tax-exempt designation allowed to raise donations and engage in lobbying and a limited degree of political campaign activity.

1: Democrat-leaning? That's about as right wing weasel word as you can get. DemocratIC-leaning. . .but I guess this moron is just moronIC.

2: Blaming? The correct word would be admonishing. Blaming is a weasel word that implies whining and complaining against something correct and just.

Huff Post is a right wing rag, just like Politico.

4. HuffPo has been a shit rag for several years
As a political news outlet, it's a terrific source of gutter-level entertainment gossip, but that's about it.

6. Go after Reuters. That's where the story originated. HuffPo just copied it.
I posted this story yesterday and here's the link:
http://www.northjersey.com/news/politics/071811_Advocacy_group_One_NJ_launched_to_monitor_Christies_actions.html

Similar to three different organizations that have been launched the by Republican groups, the Democratic "One NJ" will be able to collect donations and purchase television and radio advertisements outside of the rules that normally apply to campaign spending.

“Right now, families throughout New Jersey are struggling to make ends meet in the face of record unemployment, a relentless housing crisis and a State House that has showered the super-wealthy with gifts while hammering the middle-class and working families,” said political strategist Joshua Henne, spokesman for One New Jersey.

The group describes their purpose as watching politicians and "poised to fight back against those politicians and policies seeking to take our state down the road to ruin."

Designed as a 501(c)4 organization, the group is similar to ones launched to promote some of Christie's policies. "Reform Jersey Now" was launched last year and took to the airwaves with radio and television advertisement pushing Christie's proposed property tax cap and "tool kit" legislation.

I like this one better than Reuters, BTW.

8. Let's use the correct form of the word
I am a Democrat. Noun. My political leanings are democratic. Adjective. The Democratic National Committee is a group of people. Proper noun. Enough of this Orwellian changing the language.
