Have The Republicans REALLY Thought This Through?

This is the thought that occurred to me today. We all know that Republicans love the rich and hate the poor. That's where all this "cut spending, especially on social programs" nonsense comes from. If they had their way, the rich would own every single dime, every acre of property, and.......well............EVERYTHING. And they've made it their priority to pursue this end incrementally so the people who vote them into power don't notice. But I just have to wonder, have they REALLY thought this plan through to the end?

Let's say they get EVERYTHING they want. They get 100% control of every branch of government and have nothing stopping them, so they cut spending down to zero, they cut taxes on the rich down to zero, and basically make it the law of the land that if a poor person has a nickel in his pocket, he/she must immediately give that nickel to a rich person. And a whole slew of "Sheriff of Nottinghams" are sent out to make sure that this happens. OK, so here we are. The rich 1% own everything, and the poor 99% have nothing. They live, sleep, and yes, even die (usually of starvation or of otherwise preventable illness) in gutters of the street. Conditions are even worse than pre-revolutionary France. A Republican paradise, right? They got everything they ever wanted.

So what do they think is going to happen............THEN? When people are starving, dying, and have nothing to lose, who do Republicans think they'll come for? Whose houses will they break into looking for food, money, or worse yet.........blood? Whose heads will be on the ends of pikes? Whose children will be kidnapped and held for ransom? When the poor finally decide to storm the Bastille (and they always do, eventually), whose heads will end up in the guillotine?

It all just seems to me like the Republicans are playing "Good Time Charlie" to the rich, giving them everything they want with no awareness whatsoever of what lies at the end of that road. Like handing a person a credit card and telling him/her to go nuts and not to worry about what happens at the end of the month when the bill comes due (and it always does).

If I were a Republican, I don't think I'd be so quick to stand up and puff my chest out and proudly declare, "Let them eat cake!" like they're doing now. Mainly because I remember what happened to the last person who said that*. Apparently this batch of Republicans and Teabaggers (isn't that redundant, to list them both?) don't. And it makes me wonder: have they REALLY thought this through to the end?

*(Historical note: yes, I know she didn't actually say that, but I'm using the story to make a point here)

1. They're planning to steal what they can on the way out the door..

And the rest of America goes to the Jackals. Haven't you figured out yet that they figure their cash will protect them? It's their version of the rapture. Mammon will do the honours.

2. Ah, they will just create more wars

never ending wars so that the ordinary people will have something to think about to take their minds off the rape and pillage by the rich.

3. Who will Clean Their Toilets?

Once WE are the enemy and they are OUR enemy and refuse to do their dirty work, anything from mowing lawns to removing trash would not get done. While they spout to the world our smart they are and how they have finally squashed the leeches who take all their profits their maids will not clean,their cars/planes will not be maintained. They will finally see that all those useless people who they looked down on for years actually have a purpose on this planet. They won't like it since they will never admit they were wrong. They will still hate to give them a decent wage since it will slow down their profits. One day the tables will turn and we will have some leverage even if it is on the end of a pike!

4. Armed guards and torture work just fine in the rest of the Third World...
