Goldstein said he punches the gas pedal to make it through a yellow light. Goldstein told Channel 4 Tuesday night that he thinks yellow lights are too short, and he said he's happy lawmakers are considering upping the length of the light.
The state requires yellow lights to last at least three seconds. Many people Channel 4 asked thought yellow lights actually lasted longer than three seconds.
"I would say 10 or 15 seconds," said driver Lindsay Solano. "Three seconds sounds like a short period of time. Six seconds sounds OK."
Safety expert Ron Page said adding time to yellow lights won't make a difference. Page said once people realize the change in length, they will continue to barrel through yellow lights.
