The 'pie attack' increased coverage of Murdoch, but reduced the seriousness, generated sympathy... |
|
...for the 'frail old man.'
Murdoch is already in the hot seat. This 'attack' didn't help.
It may feel good, but this 'comedian/activist' is a self-serving clown.

The comedian/activist may be a self-serving clown, but I don't see how that helps Murdoch. His doddering old man routine is a farce, and everyone knows it. Probably advised by his counsel. Fuck him. Hit him with more pies.

This broke the tension of the moment and of course, became the media focus of the day...wouldn't surprise me if the villains arranged it.

4. I don't know that it generated sympathy for Murdoch but... |
|
...I did notice this morning on the news that they were trying to put the focus on his wife for being such a tough, stand-by-your-man type. It was really nauseating.

6. From all accounts, his "wife" is a professional treasure hunter. |

Likely to spring just as fast to the next ostentatiously rich oldster the very second her part of the will is read. :puke:

10. That's the impression I got of her... |
|
...but all the news shows are trying to make her out to be some sort of admirable figure.

5. I don't agree. Most informed people, non-Foxers |
|
are aware of what a fuck he is and his reputation. I barely have ever read anything about this guy. I just recently learned he was from Australia. But even I know that he's KNOWN as a micro-manager that has his hand in everything at his company. Therefore, he sat and lied to us yesterday.
Sorry. He's not a sympathetic character.

7. And News Corp gained 5% in stock value yesterday after the hearing. That's $2 Billion |
|
And I think I know why...
Investors seem to believe after yesterday's hearing that nothing will come of the phone/hacking scandal and they're putting their money back in.

8. Didn't make me feel any sympathy for him. That is the media |
|
spinning it, once again telling US what we think. Didn't make anyone else I know feel sorry for him either, in fact most people have wanted to do that for a long time.
But, the talking heads are still afraid of Rupert I guess and are so used to sucking up to him they can't get out of the habit.
He's an evil man and has destroyed the news media in several countries around the world, including this one. Nothing can distract from what he and his minions have done.

12. But in covering the "pie attack" upon their stoic and fearless leader, Fucked News will have to |

acknowledge the existence of the News of The World scandal.

17. I agree. It was pointless. It defused the serious atmosphere |
|
and gave RWers something to talk about to avoid the serious stuff.
But at least it was exciting...I was wondering "what next?!" after the events of the last few days.
