Democratic poll shows support for Christie is slipping
Posted on July 20, 2011 by John Schoonejongen
In a new survey by a Democratic polling company, Gov. Chris Christie’s job approval ratings slipped to 43 percent, with 53 percent disapproving, but not many other of the folks mentioned by pollsters did that well either.
Gov. Chris Christie
In a series of questions asked by Public Policy Polling, Christie is tied (48 percent to 48 percent) with former Gov. Jon Corzine when asked who voters would choose if they had to cast a ballot again, is tied (43-43) with U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, D-N.J., when asked who is preferred in the 2013 election and is trailing Newark Mayor Cory Booker (47-43) when asked about 2013.
“Christie’s populatiry has falled considerably over the last few months,” said the president of Public Policy Polling, Dean Debnam. “Forget the White House — he’d be lucky to get a second term as governor right now.”
Overall, the poll shows that New Jersey voters are a cranky bunch when it comes to their politicians.
