I'm not talking about the economic nastiness, that interest rates will shoot up like 4th of July fireworks, that the value of the dollar will drop like a stone, that the price of gold is going to skyrocket, that small businesses will be shutting their doors all over the country as credit goes to absolutely unaffordable, oh, and all that inflation that we've dodged for the last decade will land on us at once. You think a couple of bucks a head is high for lettuce, or that $4 is too much to pay for gas? Just let us default and see what happens to the price of all the food and fuel we import.

The great depression didn't just start on Black Thursday, it rumbled in over the course of many months. This next great Depression - entirely caused by reckless Republican adventure - will go off like a bomb, it won't take months or years to ruin us, it will take days.

There is a post below that asks how long we think it will be until the people are rioting in the streets? Well, it might be a whole lot sooner than expected. It will not only the the "liberals that are carrying the torches and pitchforks either, the Tea Party will be there shoulder to shoulder with them.

destroy the economy slowly vs a stupid budget deal that kills the economy slowly. My gut has always told me, they won't pass a budget deal, and they will just raise the debt ceiling because this congress can't do legislative things.
