do people fail to take responsibility for their voting actions
I dislike it when people talk about citizens united and how it is causing people to get elected. In the end, the only people who can decide the election are the people at the voting booth. I live in California. In the gubernatorial race last year, there was a dotcom billionaire running for governor as a republican. She spent a shit ton of money trying to buy the governorship. But money can't buy elections, votes can. Most Californians weren't "buying it" and voted for the other guy.
I feel the same way in Georgia. People talk about how Saxby Chambliss is a scumbag (which he is) for saying what he did to his opponent. But the real scumbags are the people in Georgia who rewarded him for his actions and by re-electing him in 2008. So you can blame the republicans all you want, but you have to blame the people who elected them. It does after all take two to tango.

1. True, Sir: The Point Of Democracy is That People Are Responsible For What Happens
For better or worse....

"Conviction the people should rule does not entail belief they will always do so wisely."

"Democracy is a system of government based on belief the people know what they want and ought to get it, good and hard."

2. Here here! I blame the voters. Especially since the repukes have
shown over many years what their agenda is. How stupid do you have to be to have missed it?

3. How about Democratic voters or those who usually vote Democratic who don't bother to vote?

That certainly gave us a mess here in Wisconsin.

5. Jerry Brown had a shit ton of money, too. Not as much but it spent it well... flooding the airwaves
when it mattered.

If money can't buy elections, then why do politicians court donations and why did corporations fight all the way to the Supreme Court to overturn local 'money is not speech' initiatives?

Unrelenting propaganda costs a lot and, as has been proven time and time again, propaganda works.

6. propaganda only works if people buy into it
sorry but if you're stupid enough to vote for a republican then its your own fucking fault. If I were to serve in congress, I would draft legislation to help democrat voting demographics and try to create legislation to fuck over republican leaning demographics.
