Years ago here, someone pointed out the "FOX Perpetual Motion Machine For Idiots":
1. FOX runs many shows in their entertainment division which "undermine" traditional American "values": The Simpsons, Family Guy, House, American Dad,and many many others. the shows all show a disdain for authority and love or at least appreciation for immorality as defined by the RWers.

2. FOX News division decries the loss of "Traditional American Values" in the country. They 'hate' the 'betrayal' of the "Founding Fathers'" wishes and goals for this country.

3. FOX entertainment division pokes fun at the Network News division(s) of all the major networks but if you look closely, the sets most resemble the FOX sets and the anchors do as well. In the early going, the simpson's newscaster was a dead ringer for Rich Noonan, late of Channel 29 in Philly. The local station even ran a promo and broadcast on their own news shows that he was the prototype. Seemed funny at the time, 15+ years ago.

1. Yes I had noticed that..never really understood the reasoning
if any between the outrageous tv programming and the rightwing nufotainment .

Yes it did seem funny at the time, but I haven't watched any fox programming since Tracy Ulman went off.

7. They are about making money and his low view of his audience
He ran scandal tabloid journalism in the UK because it sold papers. His FOX TV station is modeled after those papers as well. FOX doesn't try many highbrow intellectual programming, it's comedy shows, cartoons, T&A and sports. The fact some of their shows were good is besides the point. There were/are lots of talented people in Hollywood waiting for a break and a new station willing to put them on.

Take a look at FOX news. It's tabloid journalism. Pointless, baseless male oriented OP eds and sexy NILF's delivering gossip.

That FOX news is a totally over the top right wing hack station partly reflects his politics, but also reflects his belief right wing talking points sell more than left wing.

I think his news papers, TV station and new station all reflect his very, very low view of the audience he is trying to sell to.

4. There is a trend that comes up every time I try to find in particular a Simpson's sketch...

That holds a very liberal message... You can't find them online at all! I'm serious! For instance a while back I was looking for a scene which involved a protest song outside the nuclear plant during a strike, the entire episode can be found in various parts around the web, but that one scene is completely missing. I looked again today for the Kent Brockman parody of Keith Olbermann decrying Fox news and I could only find the quotation... and I'm not even sure that it's accurate TBH. Anywho, here it is...

"You Kent Always Say What You Want" (Season 18)

Lisa: One thing I've always wondered How can Fox News be so conservative when the Fox Network keeps airing raunchy shows? They don't fit together.

(Lisa then proceeds to flips channels between Fox News and Fox Network until Kent Brockman takes the remote control away from her.)

Kent: Fox deliberately runs shows that will earn them huge fines which are then funneled through the F.C.C. straight to the Republican Party. Everybody in the media knows it, but no one has the guts to say it.
