Lead story for 24 hrs on Google News has been Wendi Deng Murdoch
Edited on Wed Jul-20-11 06:09 PM by brentspeak
Current Google News lead story, from the The Daily Mail: "Wendi Deng Murdoch: The internet finds a new heroine in Rupert's Tiger Wife".

Apparently, some sort of massively coordinated online PR operation is underway to make sure that Rupert Murdoch's wife's "heroic" defense of a probably Murdoch-arranged pie-throwing-to-garner-undeserved-sympathy replaces the central issue of News Inc's phone-hacking as the major story.

Combined with the all-too-convenient death of News Inc. whistleblower Sean Hoare, do you get the sinking feeling that the fix is in to make sure that Murdoch will successfully slime his way out of his misdeeds?

5. I agree on all counts, it was stupid, unnecessary and took the focus off the hearings.

And that's all most of the corporate media needed, an excuse to cover anything except the substance of those hearings including James Murdoch's apparent inconsistent statements to reality in regards to payoffs.

Despite telling parliamentary committee that astronomical sums were not paid, total cost of Gordon Taylor case to NI was £1m

I also agree re: SNL coverage, their skit will either make Murdoch out to be a victim or his wife to be a "tiger" for defending him.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out they paid this comedian to do it on purpose.

7. And again we document the death of civility.
Hypocrisy must be nutritious, so many people seem to feed on it.

9. Google News leans right for some reason.
At the top of the results is usually Fox News or similar right-leaning outfits. I don't know why.
