3. A better example for the times we live in you could never find.

The craft is estimated to be made out of 1% of the gold we've claimed from the earth. A 100 foot proclamation to the 1% that control the world.

Seen written in 10,000 emeralds and rubies on the ships hull - "Do it! Fuck the rest!"

5. They have got that calculation wrong - it's 0.06% of the gold mined
100,000kg = 100 tonnes. 100 / 165,600 = 0.06% .

Still, you're right it is a symbol of ridiculous greed, concentration of wealth and pointless display.

4. the only difference the owners of this yacht will enjoy compared to others is that
their yacht is the most expensive...it has nothing to do with the sailing, you can sail in a piece of crap and enjoy it, possibly more so since you don't have to worry about your private army being able to kill potential pirates ...or maybe turn on you in a *desolate* location....

11. Oh, I agree totally. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't let it sink!
ESPECIALLY not in shark-infested waters! THAT would be a total disaster. (Why should the sharks have all the fun?)

12. Bet its this guy, Taib Mahmud
IIRC he is both the Chief Minster of Malaysia, the owner of its largest timber company, and just LOVES to give himself and his cronies forest 'concessions.'

Billionaire sheikh carves his name in
desert so big it can be seen from SPACE

Workmen scoured "HAMAD" into the sand on the orders of Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan.

The name is two miles across — with letters a kilometre high. It is so huge that the "H", the first "A" and part of the "M" have been made into waterways.

The mega-rich sheikh, 63 — a member of the ruling family of Abu Dhabi — in the oil-rich United Arab Emirates — boasts a £14billion fortune that is second only to the Saudi king's.

His fleet of more than 200 cars — including seven Mercedes 500 SELs painted in different colours of the rainbow — is housed in a custom-built pyramid.
