Thirty eight billion buckaroos
American Airlines will be buying 200 new 737s from BoingBoing and 260 new A320s from NotBoingBoing.

Actually the 260 will be from Not An American Company.

The net to the American economy is said to be about 3,000 jobs. Not bad, to be sure, but it could have been more.

**American** Airlines.

Hahahahaha.

**American** Airlines says the reason for the split order is capacity of the two vendors.

How long before AVIC-I or CCA are in the mix?

**American**

Yeah, right.

1. I suspect this will be spun badly.
"Capacity" = "can't build enough quickly enough."

Is this assuming that the Everett + South Carolina production lines can't produce enough? Is it assuming that there'll be no South Carolina production line, or at least they can't rely on its existence?

Yeah, you can see where that'll go.

I probably should truck to a conservative site and see if anybody's taken to spinning it that way yet. Eh. I think I'll let my mp3 queue empty first. Schubert's variations on Die schoene Muellerin for vln is probably of more importance.
