How Do They Sleep At Night?

Putting aside the fact that THEY have a job salaried by American taxpayers and ‘public-optioned’ health care coverage subsidized by American taxpayers, I often wonder how Tea Partied, corporate-backed Republican House Representatives sleep at night?

Tea Partied House Republicans passed a “Balanced Budget” Constitutional amendment last night. The amendment must be ratified by the states in order to become law. The ratification process will take a MINIMUM of ten years IF the states ratify it. Their amendment DOES NOT even begin to resolve the IMMEDIATE financial crisis of our nation’s potential default on money owed to creditors; the threat of higher interests rates for ALL of us should default occur; debt reduction, job creation; closing corporate tax loop holes, or threats to the payment of Social Security, Medicare, and US military checks.

On the other hand, the “Gang of Six” – a group of 3 Democrat and 3 conservative Republican Senators – presented a BIPARTISAN deficit reduction plan that includes $1 trillion in higher taxes for the wealthy and a COMPROMISE to repair the nation’s finances while averting a historic government default.

How has every Tea Partied Republican House representative responded to the question as to whether or not they would support the “ Gang of Six” plan during media interviews, “No!”

To think that Tea Partied Republicans place their hunger for reelection ABOVE their Constitutional responsibility to protect the interests of our nation and ALL of its citizens is not only self-serving, it is undeniably and absolutely MORALLY corrupt!

While “visions of sugar plums dance in their heads”, dreams that they will ever “GOVERN” are better fantasized than said!
