First time I saw Piers Morgan on CNN tonight. My god!
What a fucking idiot. The interview with Donald Trump was a complete puff piece as he sucked up and agreed with everything Trump said. Then Tavis Smiley (I think that was who it was) came on, and Morgan was still going on about the birther shit.

What a fucking douchebag.

6. Yeah that's the thing. Not entertaining.
And also, an interview is not by nature either 'hard hitting' or 'a puff piece'. In fact, a decent interview is not going to be either really. People who Morgan is not: Dick Cavette, David Frost, Michael Parkinson, Jonathan Ross, Johnny Carson, and yes, even Larry King.

17. well he was an asshole to everyone and then when the guy with the horse came out
he was just unbelievable. i mean, sure the act sucked, and he said you sucked and then kept saying it over and over and wouldn't let it go. wtf! why!! I mean, in the end it was up to the home audience to vote for these people. I don't understand why he didn't just say it the one time and drop it. I got the feeling he was having a very bad no good day or something. Like this murdoch stuff was getting to him. maybe I am just reading too much into it (yes) because I feel like it. He is normally a jerk, but he sure was going out of his way to be a real mean jerk.

He did work for Murdoch and has been defending him in the scandal, so no surprise here.

My first look was the season of Britain's Got Talent when I was following the Susan Boyle story a few years back.

Guy makes my skin crawl.

http://www.vancouversun.com/entertainment/Fallout+from+hacking+scandal+hits+with+talk+show+screaming+match/5133614/story.html
<snip>
Fallout from the British phone hacking scandal spread across the Atlantic on Wednesday — in the form of a screaming match between CNN's celebrity talk show host Piers Morgan and a British lawmaker involved in the parliamentary hearing that quizzed Rupert Murdoch.

Morgan demanded Tory MP Louise Mensch apologize for claiming he had admitted using phone hacking to get stories when he was editor of the Daily Mirror tabloid more than seven years ago. But Mensch has been standing her ground.

The pair have indulged in angry Twitter exchanges after clashing on-air Tuesday in a CNN Situation Room segment hosted by the network's Wolf Blitzer.

Morgan accused Mensch of "cowardice" and of not having "the balls" to repeat the claim beyond the protection of the hearing's parliamentary privilege. Mensch said she wouldn't repeat it because Morgan was "a very rich man" — thereby suggesting he was able to take legal action against her.

15. He's right though that she should never have said that
in Parliament since even people who are not wild about him, have acknowledged it is not true. Not to be found anywhere in his book, which is what she claimed. She would not repeat it outside of Parliament because she is afraid he will sue her.

She is rightwing, went so easy on Rupert et al, while getting jabs in at 'lefties' which, whether people like him or not, Piers Morgan is. He was against the war eg, while working at for Murdoch.

She is the equivalent of a Republican here.

20. so she was allowed to say a false thing in parliament that if she said it on the street she could be
sued for? and that is why she won't repeat it outside of parliament? see, here in america she could repeat it all over and nothing would happen because they do that shit all day long around here. uggh. I think that is wrong if she made it up and someone ought to call her on it. does he have any friends in parliament that could ask her where in the book it is and to show them since she said it? i know nothing happens to anyone in congress or senate here when they lie on the floor of their respective congressional body so..... probably not there either.

27. Yes, she is protected from being sued for what she said
in Parliament. That is why he dared her to repeat without that protection and she refused. According to people who have read his book, he did not admit to hacking, even people who are not very fond of him. I don't know how it works when something like that happens or what recourse there is. But if it was true, I think she would have been willing to repeat it. Seemed like a dirty trick to me.

28. Over here it's called "judicial immunity".
You cannot sue a judge for what they say, even if it's a blatant lie.

My career was destroyed for quite a few months by a State District Judge, Patricia Lykos, who told a district judges' meeting in Harris County (Houston - there are 59 district courts, I don't know how many were in this audience) that I was incompetent as a court reporter (not true) and not to be hired as a substitute court reporter in the future by any of those judges. I heard this third hand and I could do nothing about it.

Patricia Lykos is now the elected District Attorney of Harris County, Texas, death penalty capital of the world.

13. you should have seen his face last night...
...when, while discussing a performance early in the show, Howie Mandell said, " Wow, Piers, I was going to say the exact same thing (about the act they had just seen), its like you read my mind! I don't know how you knew what l was thinking, you must have HACKED me or something!!" (Paraphrasing there, but that was the gist). Piers' face turned to concrete.

19. they wanted someone like simon cowell. the thing is that simon cowell was being mean
specific to the music business. he was being like a music executive (i guess) and saying these things out loud. and it was refreshing to people because no one said mean things. they thought them, but he just came right out and said them. he was over the top with it, but that was the reason. i don't know that morgan was doing it to give the honesty to a person. his job was to be a jerk i guess.

it really is true, all publicity is good publicity. You heard about him and couldn't help but to watch. I'm guessing you'll watch at least 2 more times over the next week. Then by the end of August you'll be watching every night.

25. It just happened to be on at my in-laws. The 9:00 hour is reserved for Rachel Maddow,
or if KO, depending on what I have DVR'ed.

Now that I know what a dipshit he is, I have no desire to watch him. Trust me, when he dissed KO, he was dead to me.
