Got a call from OFA today....
I have to admit I was not in a great mood to start with, bad day on the job and all. Anyway I have volunteered in the past, and they wanted my help again. I am a dedicated precinct worker. I help making phone calls for Pres Obama's announcement speech in Springfield. I knocked doors for his Senate campaign.
I have to admit I will still vote for Pres Obama, but many many recent events do not inspire me to get out and help. I will work on some campaigns this next cycle, but unless things change not the residential one. My reply to OFA was simple and to the point." We Suck Less" is not much of a rallying cry.
I am not anyone special, but the OFA person said they were getting a lot of similar responses. I can only hope this will shake things up. The gang of six proposal is awful! I don't' want this country to suffer more unemployment and financial pain, before it does.

1. "We suck less is not much of a rallying cry."
That's just how I feel.

3. I get the feeling of being taken for granted because the opposition is so
absolutely horrible.

4. They called me the other day and I told them that if he touched entitlements he could forget it.
I hate the thought of him not getting re-elected but if the GOP gets elected, they'll show people what they're made of and the people won't like it.

Then, maybe we can get our country back.

If he's just going to kill everything slowly, I think it would be better to do it fast. Then maybe people will make up their minds to run things to the benefit of the citizens instead of the corporations.

Maybe it's like alcoholism and addictions. We have to get down far enough that we hit our "bottom" before we decide to make changes.

Honestly, I can't believe I just wrote that and that I'm thinking like that. But the current situation is terrible and he's not showing the principles that I voted for.

He's way too eager to please Wall Street. We've got to stop elected men from lower income levels who get elite educations and learn to suck up to Wall Street. It's ruining our party and its ruining our country.

16. I can't believe I'm agreeing with you.
I'm crying sitting here reading this, but what else can we do? Vote for him anyway? Write letters to congress, who are almost without exception just as bad?

"We suck less", indeed.

I think I'll make that into a bumpersticker. And put that shitty new Target-ized logo on it.

17. i think it's right; quick murder is better than the frog in the gradually boiling bath routine.
it's been a gradually boiling bath for 30 years and people just go along -- on both sides. believing the spin, lulled into complacency unless things go wrong for them personally, busy with their lives -- and then things go wrong and they look around and everything's changed.

6. Maybe - as a slogan it assumes facts not in evidence.

8. Do they use "robo-calls", you know the taped message that plays when you answer?
I've gotten some of those kinds of call from the Republican Representatives trying to explain how they are saving us from Obama.
I don't know how to stop them, I never gave them my phone number.
I'm not a Republican, and I never registered as a Republican.

10. They called me and after giving the dude an earful, he stated that if I was not donating $125 then
he had to make other calls. Kinda summed up the problem for me. They really don't care what is happening out here.

14. They never called me either.
I guess Obama's people don't know who their friends are!!
I never even got a Christmas card from them!
Or an invitation to have dinner at the White House.
Not that I'd be able to make it, but I'd like to be asked, just the same.

Hell, I could babysit the kids while the grupps eat dinner downstairs.
Or, if they don't trust me with the kids, I could take care of the dog.
You know, the one that we've never ever seen again once the photo ops were taken with Obama.
He probably pooped in the Oval office one too many times and got the "Navy Seal Team 6" treatment for it, if you know what I mean.

15. They called me, and I said, "Yes."
Okay, it was for voter reg, and I spent part of a Saturday at a Wal-Mart trying to sign up voters for OFA.

But as we get closer to the presidential election, I'll also donate to Obama and to other dem candidates.
