Roseanne Barr: Murdoch ‘tapped my phones’ and he’s ‘going down’

Roseanne Barr told Chelsea Handler Tuesday that Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. had “tapped” her phones.

“I’m so happy to see Rupert Murdoch’s stuff crumbling, because when he came to our country, I was one of his first targets,” Barr recalled. “He tapped my phones and people went through my garbage, and all that kind of stuff does kind of drive you crazy.”

“And now, here I am sitting here and that guy’s going down!” she exclaimed.

Barr also said that phone hacking wasn’t the only price of fame.

“When I first got famous, I kind of lost my mind,” she explained. “Kind of like Charlie Sheen. But, yeah, I’m way saner now.”

“Now that I got the medicinal marijuana, I’m set.”

If you see something in print that you only talk to friends about or send in emails, there's one of two conclusions. The first is that your friends betrayed you or that you've been hacked. As we're seeing in the NOTW scandal, the practice of hacking wasn't only used but was common. There's a cottage industry of companies either making or using hacking equipment for personal (PI) or corporate work and operate in the netherworlds that are hard to trace. However I would imagine, at the time (mid 80s) when Rosanne was on one of the top rated TV shows and her personal life (Tom Arnold) was tabloid fodder that she would have such supicions. I'm waiting to hear that Murdoch tapped into Princess Di's phones and email during her last years and days...imagine the shitstorm that will create.

I bet that many of the people who will come out and say it happened will be telling the truth about it. But I bet there will be some who just want the attention too. There always are. I bet they did hack princess diana!! I never thought of that. I think I had heard that they had hacked the royals.... I worry that somehow they will manage to weasel out of this. They need to be broken up and this needs to be the impetus to break up the mega media conglomerates but it won't be.

Her live-in guy, John, is the calmest, coolest, tall drink of water I've ever seen.

Roseanne had very left - leaning politics and a national bully pulpit. I can see why murdick wouldn't like her. Now, Sienna and Hugh? I have no idea what they stand for, and they were hacked.
