‘Friendly’ cheetah mauls 2 keepers

‘Friendly’ cheetah mauls 2 keepers

By EMILY NASH
Published: 13 Jul 2011

A CHEETAH mauled two keepers at a wildlife park who were filming it to prove how friendly big cats are with visitors.

Three cheetahs featured in a video for Eagle Heights to show a council which had urged it to get a stricter zoo licence for the animals.

But when Jonny Ames and Luke Foreman got close to youngest Zena in her enclosure, she bit them several times then swiped a paw at Luke, ripping off his shorts and scratching his leg.

Visitors watched in horror in Eynsford, Kent, as staff grabbed the cheetah's neck and sat on her. ..........(more)

3. There are several levels of stupid here.
But mostly because cheetahs are wild, undomesticated animals and will act like wild undomesticated animals from time to time no matter how much free meat they're given.

Sounds like most Republicans I know...

5. I share a house with two 'friendly' cats ...
and their idea of "play" occasionally involves a little bloodshed.

Mind you, these are DOMESTICATED cats, the result of thousands of years of breeding for human companionship.

Wouldn't expect any less from a completely wild animal.

6. I worked in a zoo and never forgot that wild animals are wild.
That they may be friendly or good-natured does not make them less wild, and wild is their true nature.

7. Good thing it was friendly, then.
If it weren't, the keepers likely wouldn't have survived.
