In July 1993, two teens carjacked and abducted 16-year-old Philip Chandler of Ocoee. Chandler surrendered to his attackers and was locked in the trunk of his father’s Ford Mustang.
Chandler was left in the trunk for five hours, with temperatures near 130 degrees, and suffered brain damage after his brain literally baked in the summer heat.

With the new Supreme Court ruling that it is unconstitutional for states to sentence minors to life without the possibility of parole unless they are convicted of murder, prosecutors said there is no way the suspects can be kept in prison because of sentencing guidelines from 18 years ago.
The new decision will allow the kidnappers to walk out of prison as free men by the end of next summer.
