They should have left it up to Biden
Edited on Thu Jul-21-11 01:52 PM by ThomWV
Biden was in the room with the Republicans for months - he didn't cave on anything. It was only when the Republicans couldn't get what they wanted from him that they went to the President. Shit, give it back to Biden, he's old enough and close enough to the people to know that Social Security is the most important program in Government, that more people depend on it that any other program, that it is and always has been completely paid for by funds already paid in - and don't pull that 'they paid out of the general fund last year' horseshit, the non-existant Trust Fund has enouigh IOUs in it to fund the program for decades. Let the Agencies pay the money back, and start with the Department of Defense.

So put Biden back in charge, there's one hell of a lot better chance he will protect our interests than Obama will, but then my dog would do more to protect our interests than Obama has shown any interest in. Jesus Christ, even coal mines don't cave in as often as Obama does. Bring me a Democrat, any Democrat, but get Obama out of the room.

2. So how do you think Biden is taking all this hemming and hawing?
I thought the same thing earlier today, 'bring back Biden-he's the negotiator'.

3. He is tough !
Biden is "in touch" with the citizenry. He knows what all this sounds like to us - Obama does not. He is too insulated. Maybe he should spend more time in meetings with the people instead of the tea party.

5. Then wouldn't you say that Obama should do what his constituents tell him to do?
By far the majority of Democrats are telling Obama not to touch Social Security or Medicare, not to accept continued tax cuts for Billionaires, to raise taxes. Do you think he will do as he's told?
