Boehner, colossal jerk, just sang "Zippety doodah..." when asked
Edited on Fri Jul-22-11 04:16 AM by Skidmore
about why the House wasn't staying in session to work on this budget issue. Just saw the video on ABC. No tears, just a jaunty little show tune.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2011/07/boehner-pelosi-agree-congress-must-act-on-debt-limit-before-august-2.html

snip...

After the speaker’s news conference, as he walked through the Capitol, reporters following him asked what he thought about Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s suggestion that it was “untoward” for the House to be out of session this weekend while the Senate stays in session to take up Cut, Cap and Balance.

Boehner declined to comment, instead humming a tune before singing aloud: “Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay, my oh my, what a wonderful day.” ...

1. We have it on tape, you say?
Take VERY good care of it.

Pity he didn't have a fiddle to accompany it.

5. Thanks for the backup. Sometimes us early risers see a brief
bit that seems to disappear during the day. I get tired of not being believed sometimes when I bring things like this up.

I don't know what his point was but I had steam coming out of my ears when I saw that bit.

6. So I'm not the only one who has lived through the ridicule of
telling people something I heard on the 4:30 AM news which never reappears...

That happens a lot here in Philly where TPTB get a hold of a local story from the overnight and kill it.

7. Absolutely. A little validation goes a long way.
Doesn't it?

11. I'm not saying this is a rumour.
I'm saying that rumours may start circulating if he is observed routinely singing show tunes.

13. Actually, it's not really a "show tune" (not like "Phantom of the Opera," anyway)
I think it's from a Disney movie -- "Song of the South." You know, Uncle Remus, Br'er Rabbit, Br'er Fox, the tar baby, and all that.....

15. Neat. And now I'm responding to the best friend of the son of the man...
who wrote the tune that The Orangeman hummed on his way to...

Wait a minute. There's a Kevin Bacon in here somewhere, and I'm gonna find him!:hi:

They're not even veiling their racism anymore. Frightening.
