Obama's Inauguration Hailed as Turning Point
Obama no longer speaks with the same oratoratical style he had in his inaugural address, and people no longer see him as the transformative figure they did back then. It seems like a very long time ago, but it was actually only 2-1/2 years ago.

It's amazing today to see how emotional people became when Obama took the oath of office. Here's a video of the crowd watching the inauguration as it was televised in Sproul Plaza at the University of California at Berkeley: http://www.youtube.com/ucberkeleycampuslife#p/c/4DD1399BBF93AFBC/38/LsbWaubM7aE

2. I think Rick Warren was a pretty good harbinger of where Obama was going as POTUS..
A deliberate poke in the eye to those who should have been Obama's most enthusiastic supporters in order to curry favor with a group that would never vote for him.

3. Enthusiastic Supporters
Yeah, I remember the Rick Warren thing. Back then we said, "It doesn't really mean what it looks like it means." Then we said it about Tim Geithner and Larry Summers. Then we said it about the escalation in Afghanistan. Now we're saying it about Medicare and Social Security . . .

The crowd in Sproul Plaza could have watched the Inauguration on their home TV sets, but they wanted to celebrate as a group. Assuming Obama wins a second term, the crowd in Sproul Plaza will be much smaller and less enthusiastic.
