A suggestion to Olbermann: Start a new daily program rebutting right-wing lies, both old and new.
Keith Olbermann could start a daily program devoted to undoing all the right-wing
lies that have been swallowed -- hook, line, and sinker -- by the brain-washed
Republicans over the decades. First point out the lies, then give the truth, with
evidence backing up the truth. Have a part of this program dealing with the old
lies, and the other part dealing with the recent ones.

Democrats are known to rarely answer back Neocon lies, which of course, helps to give
them more legitimacy. Now "Current TV" can be that "Voice of Truth" for everyone
who's interested in knowing the real info. I hope that in time it will become a
household name. It will take time, but more and more brain-washed Republicans will
become deprogrammed, and begin to learn more of the truth.

Advertising on Current TV, as well as by word of mouth on the part of Democrats,
would help to get some Republicans to watch. In time it ought to spread.

In addition, Current TV should have this Truth Program on the Internet, well cross-
referenced, so that anyone could look up the articles, both old and new. This will
gradually become a permanent source of reference for the lies the Neocons have been
spreading, and the truthful rebuttals to those lies.

What do you guys think of the above? I don't know if Keith will ever hear of this
suggestion if it just remains in this thread here. But, if any of you should know
of some way of geting it to reach him, by all means do it in any way you can. It will
be good for the liberty, freedom and democracy of our country, and hopefully, help to
bring back a semblance of sanity to it.

Many thanks in advance.

1. How many hours do you think he spends preparing for his nightly
show? Keith is thorough and factual. That takes a lot of time. Perhaps David Shuster could do the rebutt...

2. Daily?
To cover "right-wing lies, both old and new?"

Don't you mean "daily and nightly?" ;)

8. Whatever. He ought to know more about it than I do. But it
should be frequent enough. The main purposes are to de-prosgram more and more of
the Fox-listeners, who have been brain-washed over decades. and to keep Americans
informed with the truth in general.

10. Oh, I agree with you!
I was just using levity to point out that keeping up with right-wing lies will require more than an eight-hour day! It would be a 24/7 job!

:hi:

13. I imagine they'll have to rebut the biggest and most damaging lies, and
Edited on Fri Jul-22-11 10:51 AM by Cal33
put off the smaller ones till later.

That's where the importance of an Internet Archive will come in as a supplement.
They can contain rebuttals to all the lies -- big and small -- a sort of
Google on right-wing lies. This will take time, of course, and personnel and
money.

There is an old German saying: "Aller Anfang ist schwer." Every beginning is hard.
Let's do our bit to help.

9. Not likely. He'd probably assign the job to someone else.

5. Here's an idea. How about a daily program where the right gets zero acknowledgement whatsoever.
It'll be great. It'll be like fox news but instead with progressive opinions.

12. The Repubs. own 90% of the news media. It has been so for a long time. Now

for the first time there is a small TV station owned by Democrats.
I'm putting in my 2 cents worth pointing out what I see might be
opportunities for this station to grow -- which would help fight
the domination in this area by the Repubs.

Genuine criticisms are appreciated. But all I see from you is
making fun of this pathetic situation. You're no help at all.
Are you one of those who would like to see Current TV fail?

14. I'm sorry you think I'm no help. I guess only the ideas you agree with have any value.
The back and forthe "You suck, We rule" team sports mentality of american politics has to come to an end. At some point the two sides have to come together and acknowledge some merits of other proposals.

6. Here's another idea.. How about a daily program that has no bias whatsoever. 100% news with
no left or right slant? Most countries have news outlets with some shred of journalistic integrity.

7. I would suggest that show already exists - it's called "The Rachel Maddow Show".
The major theme of her show every night revolves around the ridiculous bullshit premises the wing-nuts attempt to prop up every day, and the methodical and logical deconstruction of said premises.

11. Maybe she'll also be fired some day, just like Keith and Cenk. These
people can then concentrate on building up and finally having a powerful
Democratic TV station for a change. If this succeeds, it would be the
only one. The Repubs still will be owning all the rest.

An Internet Archives should also be established for people who wish to
check on the truth of such matters.
