Cops: McDonald's boss punches mom with service dog
http://news.yahoo.com/cops-mcdonalds-boss-punches-mom-dog-103403079.html

ATLANTA (AP) — A McDonald's manager in the Atlanta area is accused of punching a mother after she brought her autistic children and a service dog inside the restaurant, authorities said.

Tiffany Denise Allen is charged with simple battery, simple assault and disorderly conduct, according to a Cobb County warrant.

Jennifer Schwenker entered the McDonald's in Marietta with her twins and service dog on July 12. Allen, who was off-duty at the time, became angry that the dog was inside, the warrant states. Police say Allen followed the mother around the restaurant, then punched her in the face in the parking lot.

Surveillance video shows McDonald's employees trying to restrain their co-worker, police wrote in the warrant.
J.M. and Jan Owens, who operate the store on Bells Ferry Road, said they're cooperating with police

1. This story was on our news last night. The MCDonald's mgr. was fired
and and arrested, as well she should have been! What the hell is WITH people? Service dogs are always very well behaved, especially when they're in harness and working.

3. Do we know for a fact that the dog was in harness, well-behaved, and working
(after having been well-trained)? Or was there some legitimate reason to be unhappy about it?

Anybody can call any dog a "service dog" and nobody can question it, so I do wonder about this.

5. If the person was concerned about the dog's behavior, she should have called the cops
And let them sort it out.

I can't think of a legitimate reason for following someone around a restaurant and then punching them in the face in the parking lot, unprovoked.

7. I don''t know for sure. Nothing was in the article , but I can tell you
my cousin has had his service dog for7 years, and although most large businesses are knowledgable and accomodating, some smaller ones where the mgr. runs the show and only a hand full of ther employees work ot the site, he's encountered problems and actually gotten into some one sided arguments over having his dog present, and I KNOW he never takes the dog out without the harness. That's one of the ways the dog is trianed to know when he'she working and must obey.

I suspect if it really wasnt a service dog, the news report would have said so.

11. LOL
ARE YOU NUTS !!!!!

Sorry I thought I should yell since you seem a little dense. Are you actually defending the person who punched a woman who needed a service dog in front of her two small children?? If so, what fucking planet do you live on???

9. my son trains service dogs
and they behave better than most people. These dogs can go anyplace their person goes. My daughter in law takes service dogs in training to CHURCH.

10. Until I read the story, I was wondering how you can punch somebody with a dog.
A dog would be pretty hard to wrap around your fist.

12. I get the sense there is hell of a lot missing from this article.
Not defending the violence one iota -- it can't BE defended.

But picture this scenario as presented. "A person who doesn't like dogs followed a woman and her two small children around the store (have you seen the size of a McDonald's? Five steps is 'around the store') and then walked calmly out to the parking lot to punch her."

Yeah. This doesn't pass the smell test as presented.

13. I live here. She told
the woman no dogs allowed. Obviously didn't know law about service dogs. Followed the woman and her children to the bathroom.
