Mussolini would be so proud...(thought you guys would like this...)

Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power. --Benito Mussolini

6. Check the sig line in the OP.
One of my very politically active friends used it as his email sig line for years.

7. Ahh I was confused since that is really his definition Fascism.
Though honestly they are so similar it's hard to tell them apart at times. As my sig line says Fascism in nothing but a capitalist reaction to socialism. Which it actually was, a lot of the big business types in Italy and Germany were scared to death of what happened in Russia happening to them so they supported the Fascists.

9. Are you saying the Sinclair Lewis said that the definition of fascism
is the merger of corporatism and government? I had never heard that - always told it was Mussolini.

8. You know, in the nineteen teens, Mussolini was the darling
Edited on Fri Jul-22-11 05:25 PM by truedelphi
of the actors and actresses, artists and writers. People traveled from all over the world to meet with this charming, intelligent, well spoken young man.

He realized, as others are doing during our current time period, that the Corporations control the money, and if you want fame, accolades and money, best to side with the fascists. By the mid twenties he was expelling some of those same adoring fans out of "his" Italy.

11. I'm sure Mussolini considered himself too big to fail
by then. He was the flashiest of all the Axis personalities.

13. I don't know.
He really didn't have the Charisma of Hitler or his leadership skills.

14. He had ego, power and more money at his disposal than he
likely never dreamed he would have. When I see old reels of him, I always notice that he is impeccably tailored. I agree that he wasn't capable of leading. He seems almost like a spokesmodel. What a way to leave the Stage.
