When Obama *uses* the Bully Pulpit, it's just "bluster and angry rhetoric".
And you wonder why he can't please you, it's not possible for him to do so.

While entitlements may be off the table, I don't doubt that they would be put back on the table in 2012.
Furthermore Rep DeFazio was complaining of the spending cuts that Obama was proposing w/o getting any revenue generation in return.
Obama is great on giving speeches - and waffling to make skeptics believe his intentions are well-meaning. But I fallen for the rhetoric only to be disappointed by the actions one too many times.
I still would support Sanders and I hope he decides to make a run for it....

He has been strongly opposed to deals including cuts to SS and Medicare. President Obama said himself that $650 billion in cuts were on the table. The deal did not happen. What's to feel silly about?

Elimination of the bush tax cuts?
Cuts to the defense budget?
No, we don't have any of those things. We have a pissed off president but we don't have an agreement on the debt ceiling either, so as far as I'm concerned there is absolutely no reason for Sanders to feel silly.

I'm sure they saw the tremendous outpouring of support from the DU "Democratic base" that it forced Obama to move! When your base, the same base that constantly bashes you and vows to withhold their vote piles on the Bernie Sanders bandwagon, you better make some changes!

35. Silly....he should feel pretty damned stupid... |

....along with those unrealistic purists who post non-sensical anti-Obama diatribes here about the president being a "corporate sellout" and a "DINO." He's doing what he can, when he can with a bunch of racist Tea Party fucktards in control of the House of Representatives. And you know what? I lay much of the blame for the 2010 disastrous midterm elections squarely at the feet of the so-called "progressives" who stayed away from the polls last November because Obama didn't create a utopia immediately upon taking office! The rest of the blame goes to the low information rednecks who vote Republikkkans against their best interests. And before you start with that infantile claim that he had Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress, remember (if you were ever smart enough to know it in the first place) that those "Democrats" were largely "Blue Dogs" and conservative Democrats who vote often with Republicans. True progressives were in the minority then and are even more outnumbered now. I wish I could get inside the heads of all the Obama bashers on this forum and determine which ones are unrealistic liberal purists who don't understand how the system works against progressive change and which ones are trolls being paid by the Koch brothers to post here.

I don't often agree with him on economic issues, but like Ron Paul, you know he has no hidden agenda.
These are vulgar, obscene people who, in many cases, I really do believe, have serious emotional problems. In this country we have people who have drug problems, people who have alcohol problems. Bernie Sanders, referring to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve
