KO said Norwegians are comparing this not to 9/11, but |
|
to Oklahoma City. The killer is a Right WInger with access to those fasm explosives.
Funny how easy it is to blame Muslims on this planet.ALl the hacks crawled out early. Terror does not mean Muslims.

6. It was amazing watching the BBC interviewing all these 'experts' |
|
who could find all sorts of possible connections. On the other hand the Norwegians were cautious from the get go.

9. Looks like the "experts" should turn their attention to possible RW |
|
organization connections there.
Of course, I won't hold my breath for that to happen.
The statement by their Prime Minister was very powerful and thoughtful.
I think Lars posted it on one of the threads in LBN.

23. Random RW violence is as much a problem now as Islamic terrorism. |
|
It need not be organized. We need to figure out ways to calm these people down before they erupt.

34. They clearly are. Yet as soon as those RW ties become evident |
|
the news switches to "just one guy acting alone" mode and investigations don't thoroughly pursue those connections. It's a pattern that occurs repeatedly and is, I think, worthy of note.

Just look at McVeigh and the contacts that he had with the hate groups and how they didn't pursue that. It seems as if someone somewhere wants this shit to continue for some twisted ass greedy reason.

they will continue to flourish.
In America if any other group except White Christian extremist are picked up, spied on, arrested etc. This is the truth.

3. More importantly, he also had access to pre-existing fear |
|
Try to picture what would have happened if he managed to escape, blend in somehow, or if those bombs he placed on the island went off as intended.
There are still articles saying this attack will cause Norway to reevaluate it's relationship with the Muslims who live there.
Was this simply an anti-government operation or was he planning on starting something bigger?

30. Shades of "Helter Skelter?" |
|
Charles Manson hoped his mass murders would be blamed on minorities and would ignite a race war, which he assumed whites would win, and would then establish him as some sort of leader.
Sounds like a similar MO here.

5. It's amazing how often I'm the only sane, rational, person in my office. |
|
Shortly after noon today, all the "Christian" conservatives in my office were running around with their hair on fire screaming "Muslin's! Muslin's!" and I was the only one saying "hold on here" we know nothing. But they were SO sure!
The stupid liberal was proven right again.

10. At OKC I learned that sometimes things are not what they look like |
|
I have told the story here before. We landed in Dallas for a lay over. OKC just happened. I told my sister, this is internal. I got challenged by one of them we must NUKE SADAMN RIGHT FUCKING NOW... so I asked this guy why OKC? What is the significance of OKC? If this was LA or NYC, ok, maybe.
We all watched in horror when CNN, who had been saying it was Middle Eastern, got the AP wire... we are looking for a WHITE man who is thought to be responsible... the whole tenor changed like instantly.
No it does not make it better that it was internal. But people better wake up... the RIGHT and the VIOLENT RIGHT is on the rise world wide... yes kiddies that includes the US.
Oh and to those posting that this is asymmetrical warfare, by definition terrorism is asymmetrical

|
part of the goal, I believe, is to convert the "Godless" Marxists. Recall that right-wing Christians were at one time allied with Muslim "freedom fighters" in Afghanistan in order to defeat the Communists. When push comes to shove, that is the ultimate goal of the right wing.

21. Your post is #3 in a Google search... |
|
I was going to ask you what a "fasm explosive" was and decided to Google it first. I found some dictionary reference to "Fuel-Assembly Structural Material" as the second entry, and then your OP appeared as the third entry. The first reference was to the letters following some engineer's name, i.e. Ph.D., P.E., FASM.
Anyway, I was just curious what you meant by "fasm explosives", but also realized it could be just a typo, maybe. ??
Interesting how our posts on DU can end up on Google, though, eh? :hi: :)
