when some members of a girls sports team came to the White House wearing expensive designer shoes that he didn't like.

I can't begin to imagine the tantrum that would have ensued, the rivers of venom that would have erupted from the right, the bloody retribution that would have slithered forth from Cheney's office had W ever had to endure one-tenth of 1% of the fecal disrespect delivered daily by House and Senate GOP leadership to President Obama.

Mr. Obama's forbearance is a thing of awe.
