9. Part of me briefly ...BRIEFLY thought the same thing. But the answers you received are correct.

It does seem like a fucked up world that the peaceful people just get slaughtered and 'take it'. And that the violent people can just laugh and think that they are 'tougher' or stronger or have bigger balls or schlongs or whatever.

But if there's any violent response ... then what? Then we'll be living in a war torn shithole for centuries.

Someone has to stay focused and run the country and act like a sane person. Even as these animals tear at our sides.
Beside, not sure about you but I DEFINITELY wouldn't EVER have it in me to start shooting people. And kids?
