7. I was wondering when it was going to happen, also did many betting pools finally pay off now? |
|
It was almost inevitable that she would pass away sooner than later.

Talk about a sure bet.
I know what you're saying, though. Did you ever hear good news about her "recovery?" Ever? You knew her days were numbered.
But you could have figured out a better way to say what you did. A betting pool on a death-watch is tasteless.

Winehouse has completed her full path of the loser. All the chances in the world along with some talent and the money and support that go with it and she still blew it.
Of all the people to feel bad for she ranks low... I'll find some disabled veterans or overburdened teachers to lend support to. Drug addicted scumbags get none...

You cannot compare a celebrity with access to the best hospitals, physicians, medications, and counseling to your average drug addict or alcoholic. I feel sorry for the young girl because a life was squandered, but let's not pretend she was some junkie on skid row turning tricks for a hit on a crack pipe. She had a disease, but she also had the resources to do a lot about it. That is more than most addicts can say.

Who, in hindsight, was hardly a failure. A drug problem is a mental illness. A frustrating, highly destructive one. People have trouble wrapping their minds around that. It's especially fatal when it's combined with another mental illness.
If completing her full path as loser means that she died, everybody dies, so are we all losers? She reached the top of the musical world. How much money has your work generated? How many awards have you won for doing something better than anyone in Western Civilization? How long will people be paying attention to your work after you're gone? By your very standards, I bet you would have to consider yourself a bigger loser than Amy Winehouse if you died now.

68. I can believe she was Janis Joplin reincarnated. |
|
She made marvelous music that people will enjoy as long as there are people.
This is hardly unexpected. Unfortunately, there seemed no way to rescue her from her fate. Generally, people go up and down trying to recover from substance abuse. But with Amy, when did you ever hear good news about her recovery? If you said "never" then you knew she was going to die young.
Who is surprised? Really?
Maybe she broke even on dharma/kharma again? Could she come back as another troubled, drug addled, musical soul that breaks into song and then dies in five years? I might be inclined to look for her again before the end of my life and say, "There's Janis-Amy again."
It's the most hopeful thought and wish I have about her. And the most fictitious.

|
During the 6 months she lived in St.Lucia...she was always pleasant and never got short with people asking for autographs
I did notice she had something of a very short attention span..
It will be interesting to see the results of the autopsy..many sites are reporting that her friends were saying she was having suffering from seizures...but had quit the drinking and hard drugs...it might have been a possible suicide..she had just been dumped by her BF and management company...
