Politics over governance - The Republicans are scared of the monster they created - the Tea Baggers |
|
Clearly the reason for walking out (AGAIN) from the negotiations is not to score points against the Democrats it is to ward of the onslaught of Tea Bagging/Fox News opponents in their own primaries.
We, myself included, have made jokes about the Tea Baggers' being lead around by the nose. We have made jokes about the Tea Baggers blindly repeating even the most nonsensical and conspiracy theory driven talking points that Fox News and talk radio put out to "dominate" the current news cycle. They were jokes because as adults in the conversation we knew that in the real world none of it could possibly fly because it was pure fantasy and fiction.
Well yesterday the (dark) fantasy and (weird) fiction became reality. The reality propelled by the mythical world of the monsters that the rightwing media created - the Tea Baggers.
"The only people we have left to convince are some people in the House of Representatives,” Mr. Obama told a townhall meeting at the University of Maryland. He said many Republican lawmakers are resisting compromise with a Democratic president because they fear primary challenges from far-right candidates.
“Their instinct of self-preservation is stronger,” the president said. He added that voters in 2010 “chose a divided government, but they didn’t choose a dysfunctional government.”

No higher taxes pledge they blundered.
Things will only get worse for them.....Boehner is a fool.....they picked the "Raising of the Debt Ceiling" to play a game with....they just knew that the President would roll over....to their dismay the President isn't playing their game......They had not mitigation plan....

4. All well and good, except the "blinking" games are over ... |

It seems to me now it's just who is going to get the biggest spanking from Wall Street when the shit hits the fan. Hasn't Wall Street jumped into the short sale game already? A few are going to make a gazillion dollars over the suffering of many. It's not about being wealthy anymore, it seems to me. It's about whoever has the most toys before we all burn up/freeze/drown because of the dying planet. A cynical game being played. Masters of the universe, are you? Well, you assholes have to breathe the same air and drink the same water as the rest of us peons. Back to my Baileys and solitaire game. I promise no more commentary from this drunken fool today. Cheers.

8. Help me understand something. Raising the debt ceiling is the |

job of Congress, right? Why doesn't Mr. Obama just walk out and the bastards figure out what to do? Is it because he can't trust the Dems in Congress to vote against anything the Repugs bring up? I would think the last sentence applies to Dems also.
