I don't see how the McConnell plan gets through the House. I did wander over to freeperland, and as I expected, they consider it abdication. I'm sure they've conveyed their feelings to the tea party on that.
The good news: Any Republicon who votes for any sort of clean debt ceiling bill is going to be primaried by a tea partier. The bad news: Even though that will get us a few Blue Dogs back in some of those seats, we're going to have even more tea partiers to deal with in 2013.

4. Maybe not, if all of us get off our asses to vote ... |
|
Indies sitting out killed us last time. Obama punishers who sat out last time killed us. It's HIGH time to get out in droves in 2012. I thought 2010 was the turning point for the future -- it may have been, yet it got effed up. Now 2012 is bigger than ever, no?

And we're fortunate that we will have one more ballot with the name Barack Obama at the top, he brings out voters who usually don't show up at the polls. However, I suspect that some of them are disillusioned, too.
If Bachmann is the Rethug nominee, we might be able to scare the indies back our way, but if it's Perry or Romney, maybe not.

3. If they want to default, maybe Boner would like to be President for the aftermath of that? |

Obama and Biden could step aside, making Boner President by the rules of Presidential succession, and then he could take credit for everything he's accomplished by being an orange flavored asshole.
I expect the USA would be one million jobs lighter by the end of his first full year as *Resident. And the full effect of Bonernomics would still be to come.
No, I don't really want Boner to be President -still I'd like to see him and the Pukes getting all the "credit" they're due for their sabotage.

7. That just might happen. Otherwise, the deficit increase this year |
|
due to the default (it will be expensive to shut down then start up offices, projects, payment schedules, etc not to mention the cost of borrowing increases) will be on them. So, instead of fighting to decrease the deficit and debt, they will increase it and they will have to own that.
