1. Depends how you define terror attack.
Weather underground comes to mind. That said, the right wing's pedigree of terrorism is much stronger.

2. There have been many
but not since the early-mid 70's. The SLA was probably the last. As soon as the war was over in Vietnam the violence ended pretty much.

3. Does eco-terrorism count?
Because if it does I can't count them all.

These do tend to target property and not human beings so IMO they should not be lumped in with shooting children and blowing up buildings with people in them.

If we exclude eco-terrorism I can't think of any.

4. the 1970s
ok, I'll byte, the ALF has done some more recently, but none is a mass casualty incident.

Yes burning houses is a crime... but in my mind a little different than killing 90 people...

Now the RW... I stopped counting... there is a rage across the plain... that is alive and well.

5. Has there been any since the 70s?
There were some radical group s in the 60s and 70s but they seemed better at harming themselves then others.

The only recent thing I can think of is some some guy who tried to run Katherine Harris off the road and that was years ago.

I know many like to link environmentalism to terrorism but the most extreme are saboteurs and obnoxious guerilla theatre. While still bad, it's not terrorism. Otherwise PETA wouldn't be sneaking into chicken farms to show animal abuse. They would just goad someone into shooting a few KFC executives the way Operation Rescue does to abortion providers. (say what you will about terrorism, the threat of death is a very good motivator. Hence why so many woman have to travel hundreds of miles to even find a woman's clinic)

The ironic thing here is... the most violent on the right DO think that the left are violent and out to get them. They really don't see any irony in comparing Health care reform and gay rights and ahost of other Liberal causes with German Nazis and death camps. That's how they justify their violence.

Edited on Sat Jul-23-11 05:33 PM by ET Awful
Not affiliated with any larger group like the Weather Underground or anything, just four guys who were opposed to the Army Mathematics Research Center

But, nothing since the Vietnam era that I'm aware of.
