No one will know what the "deal" is (or will be) until it's too late to do anything to change it or stop it.

|
they are poorly crafted and often contain items that benefit the rich and powerful while screwing the middle class (what's left of it) and the poor.
Such legislation would never get the approval of citizens if there were not an emergency.
The biggest problem we have in our nation may be the incompetence of those we elect. If they are actually competent, they serve other masters than the voters who elect them.

19. Theoretically, terrible legislation can always be undone. Keep that in mind over the days ahead. |
|
I have a feeling I'm going to be clinging to that thought like a life preserver after I see what tentative legislation comes out in a rush to keep Asian markets from shitting themselves, Monday. Except Monday comes late Sunday (tomorrow) in America.
Find something with a handle and hold onto it.

28. a "flatter" tax rate? |
|
Really? Boehner said “We had an agreement on a revenue number — a revenue number that we thought we could reach based on a flatter tax code with lower rates and a broader base that would produce more economic growth, more employees and more taxpayers, and a tax system that was more efficient” in collecting taxes."
So cut SS/Medicare AND try to get through a "flatter" tax rate? How many ways can we say "screw the poor and working class"?
