Film critic unhappy that Captain America is not more like 'Inglorious Basterds'.
Note: Some critics do not realize they are comparing apples to oranges.


“Captain America” simply keeps his head down and delivers an overly earnest underdog-makes-good story with minimum thrills. It’s not the filmmakers’ fault Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” thoroughly reinvented the WWII narrative a full year before “Captain America” went into production, but the shadow of that Oscar-winning hit looms large over the unimaginative storytelling here.
