Madison -- A new Democratic poll shows Democrat Rep. Fred Clark virtually tied with Republican Sen. Luther Olsen in next month’s recall election.

The poll of 350 likely voters in the 14th Senate District showed Clark with 45% and Olsen with 43%. The lead is within the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 5.2 percentage points.

The poll was conducted by the Mellman Group for the Democrats on Monday and Tuesday.

The poll indicates a 7 point gain by Clark since May. When a poll was conducted then, Olsen led Clark 43% to 38%.

Olsen didn't want to vote for the collective bargaining busting. He was pressured into it by the Fitz caucus. They gave him a concession in the budget by allowing the school his wife runs to become a charter school to get him to vote with them.

He should be recalled not just for voting for union busting, but because he sold his vote for financial gain.
