I guess that explains this little jewel:

Florida Gov. Rick Scott is defending recent legislation that requires adults in the state applying for welfare assistance to undergo drug screenings, saying the law provides "personal accountability."

...

"What (Scott) is doing is giving ugly legitimacy to an unfortunate stereotype that has been in this country for a couple of decades – that all welfare recipients are a bunch of drug abusers," said Howard Simon, executive director of the ACLU of Florida.

Speaking of "personal accountability", where's HIS? Isn't it a conflict of interest if the Governor owned the company the state is purchasing the kits from?

This is old news but I hadn't seen the bit about Scott having owned the company the state will be getting the drug-testing kits from. How the hell is this legal?

2. Not That This Surprises Me... I Live In Florida & Have Not Only Heard Many
stories about him, but there are also KNOWN facts on record about him. I really hate to believe that voter fraud is so blatant here, or do I want to think that elections are rigged, but I simply don't know how to explain how he got elected.

My inclination is that Jebby had a hand in it, yet I still don't WANT this to be true. Not because it bothers me that they could stoop so low, it's just that it makes me question why I should vote. This is not a state like WI. This is not a state where much action will be taken. This is not a state that a person feels like there is much one can do to fight back if you're on the other side. But if I recall correctly, I don't know that Scott was EVER ahead in the polls leading up to the election. Then again Sink wasn't exactly a pristine candidate for even moderates.

This revelation is just more in a pile of crap that gets dumped on us down here and around the country too. I look at this state and then I see what I'm seeing nationally and I wonder if I still live in a Democracy. It does seem that all of it's "bought & sold" and that IS NOT what I want to believe.

Someone please prove me wrong because it really is awful feeling like I do. I want to BELIEVE we are better than this as Ed Schultz keeps saying, but it gets harder and harder every single day. It's so DAMN depressing, and I know I myself have given up even trying to help make a change. And I HAVE been vocal and involved for many years. I can't seem to find it in me to fight back anymore because I no longer know how.

I feel the walls closing in, but have nowhere to run. I want to believe that what I think about how corrupt things have become are only my imagination. I just don't know how to believe that good will overcome evil and things WILL get better. I know I'm not in that place and haven't been for a very long time.

4. Just like Cheney.

Cheney made a fortune with his bogus emergency no-bid contracts to Halliburton during the bogus war and
the bogus search for non-existent WMD's. Scott is doing the same thing on a slightly smaller scale.
