So, basically the gunman in Norway was following the same insane logic of Charlie Manson
OSLO, Norway (AP) – The man blamed for attacks on Norway's government headquarters and a youth retreat said he was motivated by a desire to bring about a revolution in Norwegian society, his lawyer said Sunday

SNIP

"He wanted a change in society and, from his perspective, he needed to force through a revolution," Geir Lippestad, his lawyer, told public broadcaster NRK. "He wished to attack society and the structure of society."

Charlie Manson thought that he was going to start a civil war/revolution by creating a race war. Not much different from this nut in Norway.
I hope Norway locks him up forever and throws away the key!

1. Sounds like the Knoxville church shooter: "kill them in the streets. Kill them where they gather."
"The only way we can rid ourselves of this evil is to kill them in the streets. Kill them where they gather. I'd like to encourage other like minded people to do what I've done. If life aint worth living anymore don't just kill yourself. do something for your Country before you go. Go Kill Liberals."

Adkisson targeted the church, Still wrote in the document obtained by WBIR-TV, Channel 10, "because of its liberal teachings and his belief that all liberals should be killed because they were ruining the country, and that he felt that the Democrats had tied his country's hands in the war on terror and they had ruined every institution in America with the aid of media outlets."

Adkisson, 58, of Powell wrote a four-page letter in which he stated his "hatred of the liberal movement," Owen said. "Liberals in general, as well as gays."
http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2008/jul/28/church-shooting-police-find-manifesto-suspects-car/

Adkisson, a former private in the United States Army from 1974 to 1977, says that he was motivated by hatred of Democrats, liberals, African Americans and homosexuals.<2><9><10> According to a sworn affidavit by one of the officers who interviewed Adkisson on July 27, 2008:<3>
“ During the interview Adkisson stated that he had targeted the church because of its liberal teachings and his belief that all liberals should be killed because they were ruining the country, and that he felt that the Democrats had tied his country's hands in the war on terror and they had ruined every institution in America with the aid of major media outlets. Adkisson made statements that because he could not get to the leaders of the liberal movement that he would then target those that had voted them into office. Adkisson stated that he had held these beliefs for about the last ten years. ”

Additionally, one of Adkisson's former wives had been a member (in the 1990s) of the church where the attack occurred.<11>

Adkisson's manifesto<12> also cited the inability to find a job, and that his food stamps were being cut. His manifesto stated that he intended to keep shooting until police arrived and expected to be killed by police. Adkisson had a waist satchel with more ammunition, totaling 76 shells of #4 shot.

In his manifesto, Adkisson also included the Democratic members of the House and Senate,<12> and the 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America <12> of Bernard Goldberg in his list of wished-for targets

2. Interesting read, but ...
I didn't see anything there about him wanting to start a 'revolution' like the Norway guy or Charlie Manson.
One thing is for sure, all three of them are off their rockers.
And the frightening thing is there are probably quite a few more out there in the world that we just haven't heard from yet.

5. Adkisson hoped to inspire others to begin killing off all the political opposition

which sounds a lot like revolution to me.

To many rightwingers, this what the expansion of "gun rights" in America is all about
in both a practical, and psychological sense.
Message is, basically, 'if we don't get what we want, we will kill you'.

3. One difference is that the murder in Norway was politically motivated.
Not sure Charlie gave a rats ass about either political party. But yeah...both are crazy fuckers that need to be away from the general public.

4. No, that's just what his lawyer is saying today
He calls himself a 'cultural conservative'. He wants a return to a northern Europe that has no religion apart from Christianity; anyone allowed into the area from outside has to adopt all 'traditional' attitudes of that culture, with no tolerance of anything else, so multiculturalism and 'cultural marxism' (which seems to mean any tolerance of anything from outside the area) is out.

He looks back on European wars against anyone Muslim with fondness. Vlad the Impaler is one of his heroes (see video), but he felt he was let down by other European kings who were too timid to fight Muslims hard enough. But his heroes in the video are mostly royalty - Charles Martel, Richard the Lionheart, Tsar Nicolas I, the Polish king who defeated the Turks at Vienna (sorry, I forgot the Pole!) and El Cid (who was nobility). He's no revolutionary - he's far right, by the original pro-monarchy definition.
