After Voter-ID Law, Walker cuts DMW in Dem districts!
Brazen power grab. That's the only way to describe Koch whore Gov. Scott Walker's latest attack on working families in Wisconsin. Progressivetoo reports,

The Wisconsin legislature is finalizing a bill to close ten Department of Motor Vehicle centers located in Democratic districts within the state. The money saved will be used to extend operating hours at DMV centers in Republican districts. These cuts come on the heels of new voter ID laws that require voters to present a state-issued photo identification card at the poll booths.
The law is so restrictive that student IDs, even if they have a picture on them, can't be used to vote.

The Associated Press reports at least one Democratic lawmaker was angered by the move. Rep. Andy Jorgensen, D-Fort Atkinson, called on the DOT to reconsider its plans to close the Fort Atkinson DMV center...

“What the heck is going on here?” Jorgensen said. “Is politics at play here?”

Seriously- this sh*t is messed up! I suppose this is what Democracy looks like in its death throes- or under Republican rule.

2. When you can't win on policy....
...voter suppression and election rigging are your strategies. To wit:

...redistrict your opposition out of their districts, strenghten yours

...eliminate the Statewide Registration Deputy Program

...increase residency requirements

...require a picture ID

...shut down ID-providing sites in Dem districts

...use outside money to smear your opponents with falsehoods

...and when all else fails, fall back on the Waukesha County Clerk.

3. This will happen in each and every state that passed new voter ID laws
Compliment of ALEC....I don't know how TN will handle the situation, apparently they are working on getting it over turned but don't have a clue how long it will take...

4. This is a direct power grab.
How can it be anything else? You require photo ID, then make it more difficult to get ID in Democratic districts and more easier to get ID in Republican districts. It's blatant.

9. the democratic party on the state and national level
better learn how to fight or become irrelevant. The party is being steam rolled on the state level and have just rolled over for dead at the national level. Democratic voters are being disenfranchised in the states and sold down the river at the national level. Just 3 years ago, democratic voters had so much hope, it was like a new dawn was upon us, WTF happened?
