Rumsfeld is Rick Perry's Foreign Policy advisor.
Looks like Perry is inching closer to making a Pres. run official.

Rumsfeld and Feith, both advising him.

F"ormer Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld helped organize Rick Perry's foreign policy and national security briefing in Austin last Wednesday, Rumsfeld's staff confirmed today.

Perry's aides have been tight-lipped about the gathering, which National Review reported included former Rumsfeld aides Doug Feith, Daniel Fata, and William Luti, as well as the magazine's Andrew McCarthy and others . But I'm told Rumsfeld helped steer Perry's staff to the low-key advisory group.

The connection was fortiuitious: The two men know each other, but don't have a particularly close relationship; however Rumsfeld's research director, Victoria Coates, has friends on Perry's staff and made the connection.

3. It's enough to make any neocon's heart go pitter pat.
This guy could very well win the GOP nomination. He's got ties to just about every major interest group they have with the possible exception of the Wall Street money boys. He also has big state governor street cred and a reputation (probably undeserved) that he will tout all the way for creating jobs. Mind you Texas has some big big problems, lousy schools, lousy healthcare but these won't hurt him with Republicans. Neither will the fact that most of the jobs he's supposedly created are low end minimum wage service type jobs.

He's a prettier version of George W. Bush. Ignore him at your peril.

6. Just what we need - a replay of Bush II's foreign policy
And didn't Bush FIRE Rusmfeld, if only as a weapon of media distraction from the Dem victories in the 2004 elections? (Gets off shiftless lazy ass and does her own research): Yep.

16. He may be the "savior" of the GOP
but he will not stand in debate against President Obama. He will not win.

President Obama will win the election of 2012 and I'm predicting that there will be a huge number of Democrats who will win as well.

Actually, I think it will be kind of fun to watch Perry against Bachmann.
