Palin documentary bombs during second week in theaters. | The Undefeated, the much-hyped Palin documentary, bombed during its second week in theaters, bringing in just $24,000 in ticket sales across 14 screens. The movie’s per theater average, touted as a relative bright spot by promoters, plummeted from $6,513 to $1,713, according to estimates by the industry website Box Office Mojo.

26. That's because they knew it was going to bomb. At least this way they can
blame it on Harry.

3. There was an unexpected gain in Snack sales though
$1700 per screen, but $5100 in X-large soda and popcorn sales.

Those teabaggers can eat. I heard there was a mini riot over bon bon shortages in NW Phx.

The DoD would be interested in anything that could do that much damage.

24. It did. It just bombed even worse in the 2nd.
Some movies start slow, but have a long "tail" where they generate a steady business rather than a big opening spalsh.

Palin's movie has the "tail" of a manx cat.

30. Even better, they paid extra for it to bomb worse.
When a movie sucks as bad as this, the only way for the producers to get the film shown at all is to rent out the theater at a rate that compensates the owner for the loss of sales.

Thus, they're losing money at a rate probably equivalent to the average ticket sales of the theater, defrayed almost not at all by the abysmal actual ticket sales.

That rate may be even higher on these particular weekends exactly because the Harry Potter film also drags in attendance to most of the other films. So Sarah's backers may be getting double-dipped.

So sweet.

31. The freeper types were so motivated to prop up Atlas Shrugged, and
Passion of the Christ, yet it seems like they vanished on this one. If Palin as any awareness at all she'll recognize the warning (but I hope she doesn't)...

Sarah Palin, Box Office Poison. How nice.

They drummed you out of Hollywood...so you come crawling back to Broadway. Well, Broadway don't go for booze and pills!

Oh, wait. Wrong movie.

19. As was suggested by another DUer, they ought to go for "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" motif...
And maybe also give away copies of her latest book with the purchase of a ticket.

Make Wednesday's showing "Loaded AR-15 Night".

Fridays can be "Dress Like Your Favorite Republican" Night.

Have Ted Nugent play during the intermission on "Bowhunting Night" (where we might also answer the question "how much damage can a broadhead do to a Les Paul Custom?").

Have "Fancy Pageant Moonwalking" contests (the winner to receive another book from the WorldNutDaily warehouse).

On Tuesdays, they could have "Which Star Wars Character Does Rush Limbaugh Most Resemble?" contests. ("Be original. Prizes only awarded to those who DON'T show up as Jabba the Hutt.")

I got lots more ideas, Sarah. My rates are very reasonable. Have your people get in touch with my people and we'll do lunch.

38. And, BIg Business Doesn't Support Her
Bloomberg Business Week had an article with her on the cover and the title was something like "Why Big Business Doesn't Trust Her."

There was another editorial in the last issue (i think) where i inferred they think the same thing about Bachmann.
