Default represents a clear and present danger to the well-being of America much greater than 9/11. Won't even have to go to Pakistan to pick him up, either.

2. Yes, it is the Democrats fault...
They should have given in on day one and this would all be solved. :sarcasm:

required in their own 'compromise' and they STILL walked away from the table...did Obama walk away? No. How can they share equally in fault when one side refuses to do their jobs?

It is only a two way street if both parties agree to work together, the GOP already made clear they will not work...period.

So how is that Obama's fault again?

I'm failing to see how, enlighten me.

3. Only a fascist state would do that, IMO.
Negotiations on live TV would just be grandstanding.

No, it isn't. Some vendors won't be paid on time. Not a biggie.

7. Defaulting is not an option--we must pay our bills in accordance with the 14th Amendment.
In this case, the bills are the bonds and the interest on the bonds. Since we hit the debt ceiling, the treasury has taken in 20 fold what it needs to pay our bills.

We have more than enough money to avoid default; however, we do not have enough money to fully fund each and every, day to day government entity.
