Congress should cut their own salary and entitlements before hitting the middle class

Budget cuts are only for the little people. Huffington Post:

Nor, I am afraid, can we afford to pay you $174,000 per year. You take a lot of time off already, probably more than teachers, and so we are really overpaying you, and you do not need to invest in continuing education to keep your credentials up-to-date. Moreover, middle-class workers actually suffered a decline in salaries over the last decade, even prior to the Bush Recession, so you need to be cut back to what you were earning in 1999.

We would like to pay you more, but we just cannot afford it.

Oh, yes, on healthcare and your gym memberships -- you can start paying for those like all other Americans do, out of your salaries. Instead of the program for federal employees, you can only get covered by whatever insurance is available in the states from which you come. That will be good for you, it would enable you to be "men and women 'of the people.'" We are doing that for your own benefit.

4. It kills me to hear them all worried about the Asian markets and not about the poor.

Let me just say: Fuck the Asian markets.

We need a social safety net to cover the sick, the poor and senior citizens.

5. I think some of the congress critters feel so far above the masses of peasants, that they
are insular to any of our demands. These fools (some of them) need to be shocked into the fact that they are servants of "we the people." Instead, many of them IMO feel they are royalty. All of the money has to come out of politics in this country, if it continues the system will be completely broken for many Americans and currently already is for many. IMO Americans do not know how to stand up and fight, it's been breed out of the citizenry of the US.

6. EXACTLY! YES! BUT YOU MUST INSIST! RALLY and RANT!
It is absolutley necessary but won`t happen unless courageous
Americans
Why do Americans not insist(RALLY, RANT & RAGE) that the
first cuts to ANY taxpayer-supported wages/benefits are those
of ALL the politicians... President, congressmen, senators,
upper political civil servants!
If this were to happens you would have NO problem coming up
with PRAGMATIC not rhetorical solutions.
WHY do AMERICANS NOT JOIN TOGETHER EN MASSE AND INSIST
" POLITICIANS FIRST!" .
Don't forget: they put themselves first on EVERYTHING ELSE:
Best benefits, best expense accounts, best health care, best
working environment .... all at taxpayers' expense.`

Will you allow them, by dithering, to further reduce your
common American's well-being?
