News International staff told to stop deleting emails
Staff across all of Rupert Murdoch's News International newspapers have been warned not to delete or destroy documents relating to any of the phone-hacking investigations now under way.

In an email sent to employees over the weekend, the company reveals it has suspended all automatic deletion of files and destruction of documents.

The memo shows News Corp's fears that journalists from its other papers might get sucked into the phone-hacking scandal, given the company's insistence that it was solely an issue for the News of the World.

My guess is they are finished deleting and shredding so they made this policy. BUT...these are news people. THey keep notes and I think they are all seeing that the top is going to throw each and every one of them to the wolves, if they have to, so those notes they keep will implicate their superiors. But, that is only my guess.

1. You KNOW they were carefully getting rid of evidence
Selecting the stuff they could scrub.. etc

LE needs to confiscaste all - personal and corporately held.

2. They can delete all they want
Unless they destroyed the hard drives (and it's hard to believe they won't be required to produce desktops/laptops, electronic devices, etcetera,) it's all recoverable.

:woohoo:

After all, it's Britain, which is not controlled by Alberto Gonzales and/or his little buddies. I don't think.
