Norway mass killer wants time in court to tell why
http://uk.reuters.com/article/2011/07/25/uk-norway-idUKTRE76M1LJ20110725

(Reuters) - Anders Behring Breivik wants to tell Norway and the world why he killed at least 93 people in a bomb attack and shooting rampage, but prosecutors have asked for Monday's custody hearing to be closed to the public.

The judge will decide whether to keep the session closed, prosecutors said in an email in English. "This issue will be negotiated after the opening of the meeting (hearing)," they said. "The judge will then read his decision to the press."

Prosecutors want Breivik detained for an initial eight weeks -- normally this is in solitary confinement with no access to news, letters or visitors, except a lawyer. His custody can be extended before his trial on terrorism charges.

Police have said a trial could be a year away. The maximum jail term in Norway is 21 years, although that can be extended if there is a risk of repeat offences.

***personally -- like nazis -- he's had all the say so he should ever have again.

...alone in his thinking (not about the slotting of kids of course) with many others in his country, Europe and the US - Not so much.

3. I'd say, let him speak--with some graphic visuals of the slaughtered children arranged
behind him and all around the courtroom.

And I mean graphic.

I would even let him publish, and give him a TV channel--with that same stipulation. Photos of children's ripped open, bloody bodies have to punctuate every paragraph.

The Norwegian PM said, "We're going to answer terrorism with more democracy."

That would be the democratic way to deal with this.

I've always thought that the severed limbs, heads and smashed up and dismembered corpses of innocent Iraqis--a hundred thousand of them at least--and U.S. soldier corpses as well--should have accompanied everything Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld said, after their even more massive murders. These images should have been flashed on the screen during every speech, and run down the side columns of every news article.

The truth.

------------------------------

Breivik has puffed himself up with notions of being a "little Hitler" leading an ethnic cleansing of Europe. I can understand wanting to suppress this lethal garbage and wanting to deny him any "reward" for his horror.

But I think that's the wrong way to go. Instead, expose him. For one thing, the more he talks, the more he may let slip out. For another, the placement of his rancid views next to their outcome is a good lesson for all.

Maybe there needs to be a special law and/or commission, to create a special sentence for his horrendous crimes and to insure enforcement, but a good society and democracy is surely capable of this: wisdom.

And I do hope that they can keep this man in jail for life, for godssakes. 93 sentences of 21 years ought to do it.

I absolutely, categorically oppose capital punishment or any kind of torture, no matter what the crime. And I'm very glad that Norway (and most of the world) is enlightened in this regard.

A person suffering profound psychosis, such as I think Breivik is, is not likely moved by thoughts of his own death or by society's bloody vengeance. He more than likely has an acute death wish and would welcome martyrdom. But whatever impact capital punishment would have on him, or on other killers or potential killers, the cold-blooded murder of criminals and of the insane, by the state, is simply wrong. It is as brutal and brutalizing as each and every one of his cold-blooded executions.

We do not know him. We cannot know him. And we cannot judge him, in this way--with a sentence of death. We are not God. Much better to keep him and other criminal or insane killers alive, anyway, as a study in what we do not want our society to become--and to understand how the human mind can go so wrong. It might help us to keep these kinds of people out of public office.

Getting rid of the corporate-run 'TRADE SECRET' voting machines might also help. Vital, in fact. Wonder why we have such morons and vampires running things, here? It. Is. Very. Simple. They serve the fascists who are "counting" all the votes with 'TRADE SECRET' code.

But, I've gone off topic. Or have I?

---------------------------

Speaking of truth: Somebody's going to profit nicely in "national security," police and military contracts, from the deaths of these children. That is something else that needs intense publicity. The executives, boards and investors of any private contractors, or any persons or groups whatsoever, inside or outside of government, who benefit in this way, need to be thoroughly and repeatedly investigated and publicized, in addition, of course, to thorough investigation of Breivik himself and every contact he has ever had.

We can't expect any such thing from our government. All we get are lies and coverups--while private "security," police and military contractors loot us blind. But Norway is different. Their government and society are capable of full disclosure and, hopefully, of tracking back any connections. (I don't know if they even have private contractors leeching off the government, or the kind of internal corruption we see--massive profiteering from fear--but, frankly, it was my FIRST thought about this horror--intense sadness that Norway's open society would be shut down, and who would profit from that.)

Breivik may be psychotic--it is difficult to imagine anyone doing what he did, without being truly mad (not just sociopathic--psychotic, mind broken, not in this reality)-- but there is something smelly in this horrible event, much like the smell around the Giffords shootings. What both things smell of is "programmed killer." Both mass killings were directed at leftists. In the case of Norway, it wiped out nearly an entire generation of future Labour party leaders. Is the targeting a coincidence? Is there a connection? Is there an evil cabal behind these killings? There are significant differences between Breivik and Laughner, as to how their personalities come across in the media (which is all we can know). Laughner is incoherent. Breivik is not. Are there any similarities? Are there any connections?

There were two other probable murders (one certain, the other deemed an "accident"), both in the Washington DC area, days prior to the Giffords shootings, and there are connections between them, but nothing certain. One was the murder of cyberwar and drone aircraft expert (and the man behind the Vietnam Vets Memorial), John Wheeler (body found in a dumpster). (Giffords was on all the relevant committees, and had proposed a bill to ban the sale of military aircraft on the open market). The other was a lobbyist, Amy Turnot--the young, beautiful mother of two, and wife of a top Obama aide--who had just closed a very big deal with Duke Energy, on the day she burned to death in her BMW in her own own garage (deemed "accidental"--I don't believe it). Turnot had visited AZ that week for a Democratic political meeting (very likely attended by Giffords). (Note: The AF had just disclosed, during that period, that they had lied to a Senate committee about their drone aircraft operations--had failed to disclose them, as required by law.)

One very, very long stretch among all of these might be Norway's involvement in bombing Libya. I don't know if they are using drones--but most countries of the world are plugged into the military and commercial air traffic systems, created by John Wheeler's employer, Mitre Corporation. (Note: Duke Energy has some brand new airport facilities, which are no doubt operated by Mitre technology, and many other interests.) Possibly Norway was interested in purchasing drones. It seems a big stretch that the Giffords shooting spree and the Wheeler and Turnot murders could have anything to do with the murder of the 80 children in Norway (though it's not so big a stretch that they might have had something to do with each other). But what if the connection is who is doing the killings, not why they are doing them? Is there a mercenary "hit squad" firm out there, that is providing trained killers, "programmed" killers, "scene management" experts, high tech equipment and surveillance, and other such services, for assassinations, killing sprees or whatever is needed, for remote and VARIED customers, possibly connected to each other, possibly not?

Some multi-billionaire wants to get an "immigration" war going in Europe--the firm creates or plugs into Anders Breivik. Some big corporation wants to stop Wheeler from whistleblowing about something at Mitre--the firm arranges a mafia-like dumpster hit. Someone wants to kill Turnot for some reason--the firm's fire experts burn her to death in her car (and maybe have operatives in the DC police to call it an "accident"). And someone wants to distract from these investigations, stop Giffords' bill and kill some leftists as a bonus, the firm has a ready-made nut case programmed for a killing spree.

As to a cabal behind Breivik, the ease with which he got himself and all his guns and ammo onto the island, where the PM was expected to speak the next day (and a former PM had spoken the previous day), strikes me as suspicious. The slowness with which the police got to the island is also suspicious. Are these security failures innocent, or did Breivik have "Knights of Templar" brethren in the police force (or operatives from "the firm")? The source of his funding since 2002 (when he first started planning this, according to him)--this vague "web site" business he claims to have made millions from--also strikes me as suspicious and in need of investigation. (Was someone funneling money to him?)

I have more faith in Norway's investigation capabilities, than I do in those of the U.S. or U.K.--even if Norway's are not as sophisticated or high tech. The U.S. or U.K. security/police agencies are gravely compromised, in my opinion. And I was a bit worried to read that Scotland Yard is now involved in the Norway investigation. Their chief and others were just forced to resign, over Murdoch bribes. Breivik claims to have U.K. contacts (a "Knights of Templar" cabal formed in the U.K.!), so it's necessary, I suppose. If this is a deeper, wider conspiracy, the Norwegian investigators will need cooperation and help to uncover it. But I hope that this cabal--if it exists--is not thoroughly embedded and protected on the U.K. end.

Perhaps it will be Norway that really opens things up.
