Naked Weymouth man accused of spitting on cop

BRIDGEPORT, Conn., —

A Weymouth man faces charges he took off all his clothes, spat on a police officer and told him he has AIDS during a Grateful Dead festival in Connecticut during the weekend.

The Connecticut Post reported Monday that Michael Ridge, 43, was arrested at the Gathering of the Vibes festival in Bridgeport Saturday night. Police told the newspaper that the officer found Ridge, who was naked, wandering around the park.

Police said the officer drove Ridge to a medical tent and was handing him his clothes when Ridge spat through the window of the patrol car onto the officer’s left forearm. The officer got a tattoo on that part of his arm about 10 days ago, police said.

The officer was treated for possible exposure to AIDS, HIV and Hepatitis C.
