Urgent: Stand with IAVA on H.R. 1383
Urgent: Stand with IAVA on H.R. 1383

On Monday, the House Veterans Affairs Committee will vote on a version of the Restoring GI Bill Fairness Act of 2011 , also known as the “grandfather clause,” which was amended last week by Senate Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Patty Murray.

IAVA opposes passage of this version of the "grandfather clause" because it would exclude:

- veterans who started in the spring 2011 semester since it lists an inclusion date of January 4th, 2011
- out-of-state student-veterans currently attending public institutions
- veterans currently enrolled in high-fee programs

Stand with IAVA by sending an email below to House Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Jeff Miller urging the House to pass an amendment to ensure no deserving veteran is left behind in financial distress when New GI Bill 2.0 goes into effect next Monday, August 1st.
