“Cut “the Posturing, “Cap” the Gridlock and “Balance” Ideology with Rationality!
True to form, TEA PARTIED Republican Lawmakers are, once again, pulling the wool over the American public’s eyes stating that THEY, already, voted on a resolution to deal with the debt problem by passing a Balanced Cut, Cap and Balance Budget amendment and the Senate wouldn’t vote for it. The truth of the matter is that Congressional Senators knew that “Cut, Cap and Balance” would do NOTHING to resolve the IMMEDIATE debt crisis because it was a Constitutional Amendment. Unlike TEA PARTIED House Representatives, Congressional Senators didn’t want to waste American taxpayers’ time on a ‘smoke and mirrors” approach that would GUARANTEE DEFAULT!

According to the “US Constitution on Line” website, here’s how the process of constitutional amendments works:

“There are essentially two ways in the Constitution for how to propose an amendment. The first method is for a bill to pass both houses of the legislature, by a two-thirds majority in each. Once the bill has passed both houses, it goes on to the states. The second method prescribed is for a Constitutional Convention to be called by two-thirds of the legislatures of the States, and for that Convention to propose one or more amendments. These amendments are then sent to the states to be approved by three-fourths of the legislatures or conventions. REGARDLESS OF WHICH OF THE TWO PROPOSAL ROUTES IS TAKEN. THE AMENDMENT MUST BE RATIFIED OR APPROVED BY THREE-FOURTHS OF THE STATES.”

Based on how long it takes anything to get accomplished in this TEA PARTIED Congress, can you imagine how many YEARS ratification by the states would take with even more TEA PARTIED legislative bodies?

TEA PARTIED Republican House Representatives need to take a crash course on how the Constitution ACTUALLY WORKS then they need to set aside their ideological posturing and ACTUALLY WORK towards a realistic, rationale and balanced solution to get us out of this debt mess NOW!
